Who the hell are Super Market?
Super Market is the dynamic duo of Josh Super and Jack Market, a Keynesian economy-punk band that brings a unique blend of authoritarian aesthetics and liberal art to a flailing music scene.
In the Spring of 2021, the CEOs-in-the-making attended a business conference in Salford. After some light networking (and two complimentary drinks included with the ticket) no one they had spoken with shared the same passion for business.
As the other attendees departed, collapsing themselves into Nissan Qashqais and making for the A-roads, the pair caught eyes across the conference hall floor. Something was different. They exchanged business cards and couldn’t believe their eyes: Super & Market. “If we didn’t capitalise, it would simply be bad business” the pair conceded, and so it was that a new pop consultancy was registered with the relevant tax authorities.
Once described as “a business-chic revivalist, post-dot-com bubble pop, economy-punk duo dressed up in a shirt and tie,” this duo’s sound is as unique as their backstory. Their music features infectious rhythms and market-savvy lyrics, blending influences from house, pop, indie, post-punk, and hip-hop.
What’s in it for me?
Super Market‘s aesthetic is serious business. They dress in suits and ties, reflecting their commitment to the idea that business and music are not so different. This aesthetic is inspired in part by Patrick Bateman from “American Psycho,” whom they consider a style icon. Like the housing bubble, early buy-ins may prove very profitable for savvy investors.
This is not just a band but a business endeavor, striving to monopolize the music industry with a distinct sound and professional image. “We are serious boys on serious business,” and our music is a testament to our dedication to reforming this industry.
